On Friday August 8th and Saturday August 9th, MUSC dental students and faculty volunteered for the Annual SCDA Dental Access Day (DAD) Project. The DAD Project provides free dental care to South Carolina citizens in different cities each year. This year, the DAD Project took place at First Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC. Over 1,400 patients were seen in 2 days, and over $950,000 of dental care was given away. A variety of dental care was provided at the Dental Access Days including cleanings, extractions, root canals, dentures, fixed prosthodontics, and other restorations. MUSC students and faculty participated by providing restorative care as well as extractions. Dentists, dental hygienists, and many other volunteers from all over South Carolina donated their time and energy to make this event happen. It was a major success, and our MUSC students were proud to be part of it!
