They say that Disney World is the “Happiest Place on Earth,” but after a week at the ASDA Annual Session in Orlando, Florida, I may have to challenge that slogan. This year’s ASDA Annual Session was truly magical. Dental students from all over the country convened to vote on our 2017-2018 National ASDA leaders, vote on legislation in our House of Delegates meeting, and learn about our awesome profession. Eight students from MUSC represented our school at this conference and also used this week to gain insight into our profession. We also were able to glean new ideas from other chapters in order to help strengthen our local chapter for this upcoming year!

During this conference, MUSC ASDA won two highly coveted Gold Crown awards for Best Website Quality and District 4 Delegate of the Year. Thank you so much for Montana Housand's work with the website and Emily Martin's efforts with District ASDA throughout this past year! Also, this year MUSC ASDA was spotlighted as one of the TOP 5 ASDA Chapters in the country!! Our school was one of five chapters that were nominated for IDEAL ASDA CHAPTER out of the 42 schools that applied from across the nation! It is wonderful to be recognized for all the hard work that our amazing students put in to growing our chapter over these past years. We are very proud of our school and grateful for all the support from our Faculty and Administration! The theme of this year’s ASDA Annual conference was “Believe in the Magic,” and the eight MUSC representatives definitely came away with a greater love for organized dentistry and a greater vision of what our profession can do when we work together. Looking forward to another great year for MUSC ASDA!
